Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s due to the fact that the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for many years. Clients from each of the neighboring states pile in vans and head over to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) followed a benchmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Amerindian tribes located in Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today run 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. Electronic games such as slots weren’t approved, due to the fact that they’re believed to lead to gambling addiction more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to permit gigantic American Indian gaming casinos. You will now see Amerindian casinos with slot machines, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the Indian casinos yet, although this is only a waiting game. No one can say with what having other gambling hall games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
